Getting Through Stormy Days (Friendly Reminder)

Welcome again to this space. That you would come, is a motivation to write, even if I'm battling with some serious writer's block.

Here, I'd be sharing my thoughts, and lessons learnt from an old movie I watched yesterday for the first time (as much of the movie person that I am, I'm quite a latecomer!). Somehow, movies are some serious sources of inspiration, for me though.

Movie title: GOD'S NOT DEAD and I can pretty much hear you laughing hysterically, dont ask me how! I'm still an Edo girl.

Just in case I got to the movie before you, the movie potrayed a couple of well-grounded Christians going through a phase of long-suffering. The pastor knew GOD'S  word, but he was going through a phase of turmoil which broke him. He had lost his very good friend JUDE in the course of a school chaos. However, Jude was accidently killed by a guy who wasn't in the faith, simply trying to vent his anger brewing from the fact that his girlfriend broke up with him. she on the other hand, was a believer who suddenly stopped hearing from GOD at the time. Her faith was being fested by doubt. And others.

This went on and on till GOD as always, brought them to the end of their storm. I wish I could really give you all the details... you should see it already if you haven't.

LESSONS LEARNT:

Below are my lessons summarized.

- GOD allows some things to happen, just to expand the treshold of our faith. Although, they kept reffering to Luke 12:48, I got the direct message from a reffering verse, 1 Timothy 1:16.
For the longest time, I thought the kingdom of GOD was all rosy until recently when I learnt it was for righeousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit Rom 14:17. The shocking part is, all of these boxes should be checked even in the storm Phil 4:4. I know it's hard, but the spirit of GOD causes us both to will, and to do Phil 2:13. So it's easy.

- In your days of long-suffering, GOD still uses things - could be people, nature, songs and anything to remind you of HIS love. We do SUFFER LONG, nonetheless, we could decide to see GOD in everything, or see everything without HIM. I shared a testimony with a friend recently, told him how I have never gone through a rough phase alone. GOD knows how to keep a friend beside me even if we do not remain as close afterwards (which isn't a good habit, I know). You get it right? In the movie, GOD used MEG.

- Even in your trials, GOD can use you to minister to someone whose suffering is worse. Surprised?! well it's true. Last week, I went for a job examination, only to find out that they had conducted the exam a couple of months before. Turned out that I was misinformed by THEM. Trust me, I still don't get it. I prepared for this with all of my heart because I wanted that job.  Oh, it wasn't just me, while I was catching my breath from the shock, I saw a woman who wasn't taking it well, immediately, I had a convinction to encourage her. You should always see GOD'S love as a baton to pass on to the next person. Like the tap flowing into a drum, from the drum to jars, to cups, on and on it goes.

In all, know that you are loved. Always.
