We have often heard that if we want to be wise, we should read the book of proverbs. Have you read this book of the bible, or do you still find it puzzling?
Growing up, I learned that experts analyze a man's entire life using a bell curve 'n'. Meaning that there would be a time where you have in abundance, and the time it all begins to diminish. In economics, we called the highest part the boom, and in crypto trading, the lowest part of the trough is called the dip. Get it?
Now that you get the picture I am trying to paint, let us go a little deeper. I would ask myself confusing questions like why can't there be a continuous progression? It's either you had a lot then go broke at the later part of your life, or struggle throughout productive years of your life and enjoy the fruits for a short period. so there is always going to be a dip! I'm sorry but, Nollywood movies and the people around me didn't help my case.
Recently, I got into the book of Proverbs to get pills for my anger issues and found a verse that answered my long confusion. It was so clear.
"The path the righteous travel is like the sunrise, getting brighter and brighter until daylight has come." Proverb 4:18
Before you roll your eyes and say that she has brought Bible and God into this again, remember that I cannot put Him aside.
During a conversation with my dad, he asked if I was ok with where I am in my life. If you are a Nigerian, you probably already get where the conversation was going.
I answered with the revelation I had gotten previously from the book of Proverbs to say: I am ok, on the basis that I know it will get better, with confidence that I do not have to worry about any regression.
It makes sense to me because it explains why you shouldn't be anxious in the first place. From investment options to career choices and productivity, especially things we do not have total control of, it makes sense to hand them over to the author and finisher of your fate.
Now, this is a promise for the righteous. I hope you know that you can be righteous and not saved? (this is gist for another day sha). Your righteousness depicts your "good works"
This week, take a back seat and let him handle it. Nigeria is .......... and a lot of persons are pensive. Worse if you believe that your next big move is to Japa. I'm not talking this down because I had plans to too. But lately, it's been more about fulfillment because everything and everyone is in sync to have me leave, but I'm putting my foot down to say NO. Major life decision yeah?
